02 · Why we exist

Programs built to remove waste should not be this expensive to run.

DSM software grew up around compliance, evaluation and proving the work happened. All of that matters: a program that cannot show its results does not get funded again. But it produced software designed around the paperwork instead of around the people operating the program.

We build for the operations side. The measure library, the project pipeline, the incentive ledger and the report are one set of records, kept once, by the people who run the program every day. Evaluation gets a cleaner trail because the work was done properly, not because someone reconstructed it at quarter end.

04 · Start anywhere

Start with one piece. Keep what already works.

You do not replace your CIS, your billing system, your evaluator's process or the spreadsheets that run half the program. You light up one module and connect it. The grey column in the picture is yours, and it stays.

One OpenWatt product switched on. Everything else stays exactly as it is.

The grey column never disappears. Adopting OpenWatt is not a replacement project.

05 · Better together

Independent by design. Better together by choice.

Add a second product and the measure your engineer published is the same measure the project is approved against. The incentive paid is the incentive the report counts. Nothing you already installed changes, and nothing you connected has to be connected again.

Interoperability is a property of every product, not a product of its own. Each one reads and writes the same open formats, so the value of adding the next one is that the records already agree.

06 · AI Workforce Direction

Digital coworkers that know the job, not a chatbot bolted onto a database.

A layer across the products, never a fifth tile. Named jobs only:

  • Review an application.
  • Check a project against the measure it claims.
  • Watch a budget.
  • Draft the utility report.
  • Pick up a ticket.

This is where we are going, and it is the part we charge for. It is labelled Direction because there is no product surface you can use today, and we will say so until there is.

07 · Open source

You should stay because we're good, not because you're trapped.

Core products are open source and self-hostable. Run them yourself, connect them to what you have, and never call us again if you don't need us. That is the deal, and it is the reason to believe the rest of this page.

The first repository goes public soon. The week it does, this section grows a link to it, and that link will be the strongest thing on the site.
